Troop meetings are usually held on Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Stone Chapel at Incarnation Church, Charlottesville. Parent/Leader meetings intersperse the troop meetings. If in doubt about a upcoming meeting, please contact the Scoutmaster (Wes S.)

Generally, the months meetings follow the following schedule:

  • First Tuesday - Troop meeting

  • Second Tuesday - PLC and Committee meetings

  • Third Tuesday - Troop meeting

  • Fourth Tuesday - Multiple purpose meeting

  • June 19-24, 2005 - Troop 17 at Camp Shenandoah

  • Saturday June 4 - Sunday June 5, 2005 (rescheduled) - Panorama Farms camping and biking. Fee is $5/person. Meeting at Panorama farms at 10:00 a.m. Organized activities start at 11:00 a.m. Scouts and attending adults should bring their own meals (one lunch, dinner and breakfast) for this event. Open fires are allowed and there is a fire pit in which to build a fire if you want to use it for cooking. Service work will be some trail maintenance - remember to bring some tools (shovel and/or rake). Outing is organized by Panther Patrol.

  • May 20, 2005 - All Camp Shenandoah fees due to Troop Treasurer

  • Tuesday May 17, 2005 - Troop Meeting planning Court of Honor & Scout Camp

  • May 13-15,2005 - Sherando Lake Fishing & Camping (Price per person is likely to be $8/person plus food costs rather than the higher figure mentioned earlier. The campground Rangers are quick to mention that this includes hot showers!  Anyone 16 years of age or older will need a fishing license & National Forest Stamp; so we'll probably add a few dollars to the fee to partially reimburse the adults & older Scouts for this expense. There are two excellent lakes for fishing--one within walking distance of the campsite. So campers can walk to the upper lake to fish as often as they like!). Outing is organized by Anonymous Patrol. Leaving from Stone Chapel at 5:30 p.m. on Friday May 17, 2005.

April 2005
